Welcome to Olathe East High School!
Olathe East High School provides students with a tremendous education in a safe and caring environment. Not only do our students learn and excel to the highest level academically, they are also quite successful in our performing arts and athletic programs. We are proud that many of our students also provide service to both our school and community. Olathe East High School was recognized as a National School of Excellence in 1998 by the U. S. Department of Education. Our tradition of excellence continues!

Canned Food Drive
Students helped load over 10,000 cans that were donated to help feed needy families in the community. Students and staff brought cans and money to their third hour classes.

Military Forces Wall of Honor
On November 11, Olathe East unveiled a Wall of Honor for OE alumni who are serving or have served in the Military Forces.  Each alumni student, whose service was verified, will have their name, graduation year, and military branch listed on the wall. As more names are given, those will also be included. Olathe East also honored Matt Murchison, 2004 graduate, who lost his life fighting for our country in Iraq.

Environmental Design Students Go to New York
Olathe East Environmental Design students along with teachers Barbara Nikoomanesh and Sherri Hanna attended the 2009 Teen Design Fair sponsored by the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum a Smithsonian Institution,  in New York City. Students had the chance to meet with internationally known professionals in numerous fields of Design, including Architecture, Product Design, Graphic Design, Web Design and other areas. They visited in small groups asking questions of these designers and listening to their advice on pursuing a career in Design. Tim Gunn from Project Runway was the key note speaker.

ENVD students take trip to NY

Students also attended the panel discussion of the 2009 National Design award winners in various fields of design. The panel discussed what led to their careers and success in design and gave suggestions that would be helpful to students considering one of these career avenues.
